A short walk away is the town centre, it is up a steep hill...
A short walk away is the town centre, it is up a steep hill so be prepared! The other way over the bridge is another steep hill and a walkway under the bridge with a beautiful mural this then takes you up so that you can get into a park full of follies and statues. There was also a canoe and slalom hire shop that was very popular when we walked past on Saturday AM. In 200m radius there are a number of bars and restaurants we didn't try any food but had a couple of beers and a chat with some of the very friendly locals.

There was a happy atmosphere and the staff were cheerful and hardworking. The room was very clean and the bed exceptionally comfortable. The restaurant served superb food and wine and was reasonably priced. Booking and communication with the hotel was also efficient and easy.
